The Walrus project in EHUB’s portfolio presents a lifestyle retail destination. This case study uses the supplied storefront previews to discuss how a brand-led ecommerce website can introduce a collection and help a customer move towards an individual product. It does not assume a particular backend or checkout configuration.

THE DETAILS THAT MATTER
From first impression to the next step.
01
Give the collection a recognisable visual world
Lifestyle retail needs room for imagery and brand character, but the range still has to be navigable. The portfolio presentation brings those two needs together: a recognisable storefront and a product-led path. The useful design question is whether the customer can understand what is sold without losing the feeling of the brand.
02
Consider browsing at phone scale
A desktop composition can show more products and promotional space at once. On a phone, the same priorities need a simpler reading order and clear category choices. The supplied mobile preview provides a separate view of that experience. Any assessment of checkout completion, payment behaviour or conversion rate would require additional access and data.
03
Plan a retail store around daily operations
For a comparable store brief, prepare the catalogue, product options, image standards and collection rules. Then describe delivery information, returns content and who keeps stock current. These operational decisions should shape ecommerce website development alongside the visual direction, rather than being left until the design is approved.
